Accidental President - I Don't Need This EP
Accidental president seem like the kind of band who know exactly what they like and their influences come over instantly without sounding like a ripoff of anyone. Their intros and verses come over like old-school Blink 182 with Screeching Weasel snarling over the top, while their choruses are more like Rancid rocking out to Less than Jake.
The song structures are pretty simple here - no technical breakdowns or stabs, just blasted power chords with palm-muted verses and the odd simple solo and ska rhythm chucked in for good measure.
There's probably no new ground broken with Accidental President, but if you happen to like the bands mentioned above, then it's definitely worth checking them out as there's nothing not to like about them, although the recording is quite clipped in places, most noticeable on the guitar intros, but sometimes continues through to the choruses which is a shame.
My favourite moment is "I Don't Need This", its chorus is immensely catchy and will get your head nodding instantly, and there's several fist-raising moments with "Got two more words for you, FUCK YOU" that'll make for really good moments in their live set I'm certain.

Streetpunk vs. rock n roll vs. ska
A nice and very fitting intro for this song. It remains a lot of Bombshell Rocks. Then it kicks in the "real" intro and then there's a clear rock n roll inspiration and feeling....it remains me of Randy!
Then the verse is a lot ska-ish. The singer is really finding his ace here!! It remains me a lot of Choking Victim/Leftover Crack and with a feel of old Rancid/Operation Ivy.
Then the song keeps it into the intro again. This is a long song but you're defintly being entertained all the way through and when it's done you don't see how it could pass by that quick!!!
Who Do We Sound Like? Like the bands I mentioned above. All in all it sounds a bit like Rancid just with a singer that can sing....
But really great song. One of the best I've heard in a long time here at GB!

Skanking Around!
Awesome song i love the ska verses....very unexpected but an awesome addition...the bass kicks ass in the song...not the hardest but it fits the song perfectly...i like the vocals and everything else with this song
